Director Statement
Every education professional in China knows that purely exam-oriented education greatly damages children's nature and produces individuals who excel in exams but struggle to solve real-world problems. However, no school dares to easily change the teaching methods that prioritize exam results.
I have always hoped to encounter a visionary school principal who can make some changes, and it would be even better if I could be involved in it myself. Luckily, my old friend Lin Jiedong gave me this opportunity.
Building a brand new concept of a library from scratch was tremendously attractive but also challenging. I am delighted that I completed this task and saw the children enthusiastically reading, giving speeches, discussing, and organizing various exhibitions in the library. It brings me immense joy.
The world will always have various problems, and many times, the problem itself is not the key. It is the determination and courage to solve these problems that are the most crucial factors. I am grateful for the friendship, trust, and the help of my friends, which gave me the chance to contribute my efforts to a small step of progress.
"Striving for progress" is the slogan I wrote for Fuzhou Hualun Middle School's advertisement, and it is also my personal motto.
